Atlas 2010 DC Team
The Coronation Double Century Cycle Challenge is a 202km team race that is limited to 200 teams. The event took place on 27 November 2010 in Swellendam in the Western Cape.
ATLAS Security sponsored a team of 12 cyclists for the race. The team members’ names are: Bernhard Manson-Kullin, Erni Bilbrough, Gary Lombard, Heidi Jansen, Helga Hoflinger, John Kidson, Lesley Wood, Martin Truscott, Stefan Cronje, Sune Truscott, Tim Fraser and Venance da Silva. Congratulations to the ATLAS DC Team on their superb superhuman effort!
The teams had to complete the most challenging climbs, including Tradouw Pass and Op de Tradouw, within the first 60km of the race. From Swellendam, cyclists follow the R324 through Suurbraak and over the Tradouw Pass towards Barrydale. A left turn onto the R62 takes participants to the challenging 7km Op de Tradouw, before making their way to Montague. The route then snakes through Cogmanskloof towards Ashton and Robertson, turning left onto the R317 towards Bonnievale and back to the finish in Swellendam. |
