As we look back, with December usually being our busiest period; December 2018 was no different. In total, 232 incidents were reported to Atlas Security where our assistance was required. December 9, saw the most incidents with 19 in one day.

Commercial properties were hit hard, but as we look into the detail of the incidents that took place within residential properties, one particular suburb, for the first time, had the most break-ins for December.

We have found the the Western Suburbs, particularly Westering and Kabega Park, are under attack. For the first time, Westering was a hotspot. Incidents ranged from front door kicks, to break-ins where homes didn’t have alarm systems at all. 31 DECEMBER 2018 MONDAY

07:41 CENTRAL. A medical was reported in Western Road; one of the residents went for a walk, he collapsed and two workers picked him up and took him inside. The ambulance arrived after response checked the vitals and declared the resident deceased from natural causes
05:55 UITENHAGE. A business in Matanzima Road reported a vandalism incident; the owner rented his premises out but the tenants did not pay. He changed all the locks, the tenants came to site, broke all the locks and took their stock.
11:08 CENTRAL. A business in Havelock Street was burgled; the suspects jumped over the wall and forced the store room door open. The suspect proceeded to the balcony and tried to open the office door. No loss to the premises.
14:43 WESTERING. A residence in Fourie Street was burgled; the suspects forced the security gate and front door open and gained entry. The owner could see a 52 inch TV, two terra bites Seagate external hard drive and a cordless Nintendo gaming console with remotes and games missing. The owner opened a case.
21:30 LORRAINE. A residence in De Murville Street reported a positive theft incident; the owners’ nephew arrived on site and he noticed that the cover of the motorised gate was standing open. Suspect stole a battery and did not enter the house.

30 DECEMBER 2018 SUNDAY

13:18 MORNINGSIDE. A residence in Ruby Street was burgled; the suspects forced the bathroom window open and gained entry. The owner could see a laptop missing.
01:42 KABEGA PARK. A residence in Oscar Road was burgled; the suspects forced the lounge window open and kicked the burglar bars off. The suspects went to the bedroom and found the panel box in the cupboard and ripped out the alarm system.
03:58 WALMER. A business in Heugh Road reported an attempted burglary; the suspect smashed a small window by the front door and no entry was gained.
04:55 CENTRAL. A residence in Frederick Street was burgled; the suspects removed the front security gate and gained entry to the premises. SAPS stood down and owner opened a case.
07:16 UITENHAGE. A robbery from person was reported in Mosel Street; the lady was waiting in Mosel road for the premises to open when two suspects tried to grab her hand bag. She then ran and threw her hand bag into a yard in Mosel Street. One suspect then jumped over the fence and took her hand bag.
07:21 UITENHAGE. A residence in Rocklands Road was burgled; the suspect kicked in the kitchen door and gained entry. The owner could see a large plasma TV missing. The garage lock was broken, but owner could not see anything missing at that stage.
09:31 GREENBUSHES. A residence in Thrush Road reported a burglary; the suspects forced the security gate open and kicked in the front door. No entry was gained to the premises. SAPS stood down.
10:00 MORNINGSIDE. A residence in Groendal Avenue was burgled; the suspect forced the wooden store room door open. The suspect gained entry. The owner could see three bicycles, camping equipment and power tools stolen.
10:03 MILL PARK. A residence in Young Road was burgled; the owner confirmed that around 04:00 this morning the Campers alarm went off and she heard someone leaving the yard. Suspects entered the garage through the sliding door, the suspects then forced the window open on the camper. The owner confirmed at that stage they can see a plasma TV as well as a vehicle polisher and some power tools missing from the garage.
17:16 PARSONS VLEI. A residence in Artemis Street was burgled; the suspect forced the back sliding door open and gained entry to premises. The owner could see weed-eaters as well as other electrical tools missing.
18:00 WALMER HEIGHTS. A residence in Corellei Crescent was burgled; response reported no loss to the property. The owner will secure the door best possible.
18:00 SUMMERSTRAND. A residence in Erasmus Drive was burgled; the suspects lifted the front motorize gate off the rails and kicked the front door in. Armed response can see a plasma TV missing. Response reported that he managed to bend the front door lock back in place in order to close the front door. Response reports that they secured the premises best possible.
22:01 WESTERING. A residence in Bouganvilla Drive was burgled; the suspects removed the glass window from the back door and gained entry. The owner confirmed that he could not see anything that has been taken from site.

29 DECEMBER 2018 SATURDAY
10:21 PARSONS VLEI. A residence in Hunters Close was burgled; the suspects bent the security gate open and kicked in the bottom part of the door. Entry was gained and the owner could only see a plasma TV missing from the lounge.
13:15 UITENHAGE. A residence in Pongola Street was burgled; the suspect gained entry by the front door. Suspect then proceeded to the lounge and took a TV. There were three males that entered the premises and ran out with a TV.
13:45 WALMER. A business in Tenth Avenue was burgled; the suspects gained entry by making two holes in the roof at the back. Suspect climbed through the roof area into the bathroom and managed to bypass the passives. Suspect emptied out the fridges and the owner was not sure what was missing at that stage. Suspect ransacked the entire premises.
14:55 MIRAMAR. A residence in Jeffery Street was burgled; the suspects gained entry through the bedroom. Suspects stole a jewellery box and the owner can see cash missing. SAPS stood down.
17:46 KORSTEN. A business in Cottrel Street was burgled; the suspects bent the burglar bars after they smashed a window and gained entry. Suspects stole the copper pipes from the geyser and fled from the scene.
21:41 MOUNT PLEASANT. A business in Buffelsfontein Road reported an armed robbery; six male suspects entered the store but were not armed. Suspects took money from the till as well as from the cash office. An undisclosed amount of money was missing. SAPS stood down.
21:45 WESTERING. A residence in Petronella Street was burgled; the suspects forced a bedroom window open. The owner entered the premises and noticed that is had been ransacked. The owner could see jewellery missing.

28 DECEMBER 2018 FRIDAY
06:29 SOUTH END. A residence in Seymour Road reported a medical; the owner who is 63 years of age has a history of chest pains since an operation and could not breathe. The paramedics arrived and transported the owner to hospital.
15:35 CENTRAL. A business in Govan Mbeki Avenue reported an armed robbery; two suspects armed with gas gun were arrested. A bag containing an undisclosed amount of cash was recovered.
21:00 UITENHAGE. A residence in Troskie Street reported an attempted theft incident; the suspect gained access into the vehicle that was unlocked and stole a phone and voltage tester. Response recovered stolen items.
23:34 SUMMERSTRAND. A residence in Gomery Place was burgled; the suspect broke the bottom part of the bedroom window. The suspect grabbed a pair of sneakers and fled the scene. Response spotted the suspect sitting in one of the trees and he still had the stolen goods on him. Response handed suspect over to SAPS.

27 DECEMBER 2018 THURSDAY
06:19 WALMER. An attempted burglary was reported in Heugh Road; suspects threw a brick against the window in an attempt to break the window. The property has a thick glass window and the suspect managed to dent the window.
10:12 NEWTON PARK. A residence in Bruce Street was burgled; the suspect forced the safety gate open and gained entry to the premises. The owner could see a 60 inch plasma TV, laptop, clothing, Wi-Fi Router, watch and an iPad missing.
12:30 SIDWELL. A business in Haupt Street reported an attempted theft incident; there were aluminium window frames and burglar bars laying in the back yard. Suspects were outside the yard and SAPS noticed them carrying the stolen items.
14:22 DESPATCH. A residence in Human Street reported an attempted burglary; the suspects gained entry due to the short walls and gates that were unlocked. They proceeded to the back where suspects smashed the bedroom window with a brick and no entry was gained to the premises.
15:52 WALMER. A residence in Villiers Road was burgled; the suspects entered the yard by jumping a section of the electric fencing at the back. Suspects entered by the kitchen window and ransacked the entire house.
20:14 MIRAMAR. A residence in Godlonton Avenue was burgled; the suspects lifted the gate from the rail and kicked in the front door. At that stage the owner could only see a plasma TV missing.

26 DECEMBER 2018 WEDNESDAY
04:36 KORSTEN. A business in Perl Street was burgled; the suspect entered at the top office window. Suspect smashed window with a stone and made a ladder out of wood to reach the window. Suspect took a CCTV monitor but the screen only.
07:07 MILL PARK. A business in King Georges Road reported a theft incident; when the owner arrived on site they notice that the gates batteries were stolen. There are no signs of entry into yard. Suspects just put their hand through the gate and stole the batteries.
08:59 UITENHAGE. A business in Jubilee Park was burgled; the suspect broke the window and gained entry. At that stage the owner could not see what was missing from premises.
09:16 MIRAMAR. A residence in Stradford Close reported a positive theft incident; entry was gained through the driver’s side window. The owner could see a radio and amplifier missing.
23:08 PERSEVERANCE. A business in Kurland Road was burgled; response reported that the suspects entered the premises through a small window. Three suspects broke into the premises. They jumped over the partitioned wall that separates the two businesses. When response stood down suspects were still inside the premises. Suspects told SAPS where they broke into previously. Two suspects were arrested.

25 DECEMBER 2018 TUESDAY
03:48 SIDWELL. A business in Kempston Road was burgled; the suspects forced two workshop windows open and gained entry. The owner could see motorcycle parts missing.
06:13 SUNRIDGE PARK. A residence in Kragga Kamma Road was burgled; there was no visible entry point and no force marks on doors or windows. The owner could see a laptop and cellphone missing. Suspect also took owners’ car keys and went inside the vehicle.
11:57 CENTRAL. A business in Lawrence Street was burgled; the suspects broke the kitchen window and forced the burglar bars open. At that stage the owner could not see what was missing.
13:24 WALMER. A residence in Eleventh Avenue was burgled; response reported that the kitchen window was wide open and burglar bars were bent open. Response cannot confirm if entry was gained as owner was not on site. Response will checked internally with client to see what was missing.
15:21 DESPATCH. A residence in Louis Trichard Street reported an attempted burglary; the window was previously broken because of the wind. The burglar bars had forced marks but no access was gained into property. Client confirmed nothing was missing from site.
16:09 SUMMERSTRAND. A residence in Third Avenue was burgled; the owner left the front door open while they were working in the top floor. The suspects derailed the gate and walked into the premises and stole a laptop, cellphone and ring.
16:04 SUMMERSTRAND. A residence in Fourth Avenue reported a positive theft incident; a taxi with three males and one female stole 4 rims from the vehicle.
18:20 SUMMERSTRAND. A residence in Bognor Street reported a medical; the resident who is 90 years of age had lung and heart problems. The paramedics stood down and took the owner to hospital.

24 DECEMBER 2018 MONDAY
00:48 GREENBUSHES. A business in Ericadene Road was burgled; the suspects forced the garage door open and gained entry into the house from the interleading door. Client could not see what was missing at that stage.
02:07 PERSEVERANCE. A business in Makepeace Crescent was burgled; the suspects gained entry into the workshop area by forcing the bathroom window open. The owner could not see what was missing at that stage.
06:09 ST GEORGES PARK. A business in Park Lane was burgled; the suspects forced the front window open. They left using the back door. The owner could not see what was missing at that stage.
09:05 PERSEVERANCE. A business in Kurland Road was burgled; the suspects smashed the small side window and gained entry into premises. The owner could see two laptops missing.
11:09 UITENHAGE. A residence in Tolbos Street was burgled; the suspects bent the security gate and forced the door open. The owner could see a 32 inch plasma TV and a 55 inch Sony AMP missing.
14:40 CENTRAL. A business in Pearson Street was burgled; the suspects smashed the window and removed the burglar bars. The owner still needs to do stock take to determine what was missing.
16:13 UITENHAGE. A residence in Sprigg Street was burgled; the owner got home to change vehicles when she noticed a handbag lying outside on the grass. The wooden door was forced open between the entertainment area and the house. Suspects smashed the window by the sliding door. Two laptops have been stolen and the house has been ransacked.
22:18 CHELSEA. A residence in Loerie Lane was burgled; the suspects opened the main bedroom window and gained entry. The owner went for a smoke and saw a suspect moving around. Suspect jumped out of the window and ran towards the gate. The owner could see jewellery missing. Response recovered three gold rings, a gold bracelet and watch at the gate.

23 DECEMBER 2018 SUNDAY
02:23 KORSTEN. A business in Stanford Road was burgled; the suspects forced the roller shutter open. The suspect could not get the internal door open. No loss to premises and no case have been opened.
12:19 PERSEVERANCE. A business in Makepeace Crescent was burgled; the suspects entered the yard at the back and smashed a window. The owner can see a computer box, computer screen and a mouse missing at that stage.
11:09 FERNGLEN. A residence in Cape Road reported a positive theft incident; the suspects gained entry at the left door of the garage. Suspects stole an iron, bicycle track and an orange car battery charger.
20:51 CHARLO. A residence in Martin Road was burgled; the suspects gained entry at the security gate and the foyer door. Suspects could not open the internal door.
23:36 MILL PARK. A residence in Cape Road was burgled; the suspects forced the sliding door open at the outbuilding. No protection in area. No loss to premises.

22 DECEMBER 2018 SATURDAY
03:17 MARKMAN INDUSTRIAL. A business in Buick Street was burgled; the suspect gained entry into the manager’s office by using the biometric finger scanner. The owner could not determine what was missing at that stage. A sewing machine and a printer were found on the outside.
20:03 WALMER HEIGHTS. A residence in Verdi Avenue was burgled; the suspect forced the security gate open. The house sitter can see a 32″ plasma TV missing. SAPS stood down and the house sitter opened a case.
20:36 DESPATCH. A business in Amberbo Street reported a positive theft incident; the suspects entered and forced the multiple locker doors open. The owner cannot determine if anything is missing yet.
23:37 WALMER. A business in Sixth Avenue was burgled; the suspect gained entry at the back by removing the window and cutting the burglar bars. There was no loss to premises.

21 DECEMBER 2018 FRIDAY
03:09 WINDVOGEL. A business in Bethelsdorp road reported a theft incident; suspect stole a battery from the tractor and cut the wires.
03:24 FAIRVIEW. A trespassing incident was reported in Mimosa Street; the owner confirmed there were four suspects in her yard. Response checked all around and did not find suspects as they must have been hiding in the bush.
06:53 WALMER. A residence in Villiers roads reported a positive theft incident; the suspect jumped over the wall and gained entry into the owner’s yard. Suspect stole washing off the line and a lawn mower from the flatlet.
09:46 NEWTON PARK. A business in Sixth Avenue reported an attempted burglary; the suspect smashed the window on the right hand side. No entry was gained into the premises and owner will replace the window himself.
09:58 MILL PARK. A residence in Salisbury Avenue reported a medical; the owners son aged 14 year, fell through the roof and landed on his right arm. They cannot confirm if its broken. The paramedics transported him to hospital.
11:43 NEWTON PARK. A business in Newton Street reported a burglary; the suspect entered the premises by cutting the roof sheeting open and gained access at the reception and kitchen. Suspect was lying in the roof and ripped the whole panel. The owner can see a large amount of cash missing from safe.
16:56 NEAVE TOWNSHIP. A business in Gracey Street was burgled; the suspect cut a hole in the back fence and got into the premises. The suspect got into the air vent and removed a piece of asbestos sheeting and gained entry into the building. The suspect cut the locks off from the store room. The owner can see electrical power tools missing.
18:34 UITENHAGE. A business in Market Street reported an attempted theft incident; the suspect stole a stock item. The owner apprehended the suspect.

20 DECEMBER 2018 THURSDAY
07:10 NEWTON PARK. A business in Pickering Street was burgled; suspect got onto the roof and cut the alarm wires. A hole was made in the ceiling board. The owner could see a safe containing petty cash and liquor missing.
17:47 GREENBUSHES. A business in Mission Road reported an attempted theft incident; two suspects tried to steal roof sheeting from site. The suspects threw a rock at the guard.
22:31 BLUE HORIZON BAY. A burglary was reported in Gladiola Street; four suspects gained entry by a window in the front. The owners were at home watching television when the suspects entered and locked the owners in the bathroom. Suspects stole laptops and jewellery.

19 DECEMBER 2018 WEDNESDAY
08:22 UITENHAGE. A robbery of person was reported in Currie Street; a jogger was doing his daily run when a suspect approached him. He took the gentleman’s cellphone and Garmin watch and fled the scene. The suspect had stabbed the gentleman in his left hand before he fled. The response was notified of the incident and the suspect was caught and apprehended. The suspect showed the response where he threw the items and all was recovered.
08:22 WILLIAM MOFFAT. An armed robbery was reported; Suspects entered the mall parking area and parked in the basement. They were all armed. An undisclosed amount of cash was taken. Suspect fled in a maroon VW Polo and a white Ford icon.
18:09 UITENHAGE. A business in John Street Central reported that the fire started by the point of sales as the wires had an electrical short. Not a lot of damage on site. Alarm is in working condition.

18 DECEMBER 2018 TUESDAY
06:11 SYDENHAM. A suicide was reported a male who was sixteen years old had hung himself during the night.
07:29 STRUANDALE. A business in Kwaford Road was burgled; the suspect gained entry into the yard and forced the roller shutter door open. The suspects got away with two rims but it was recovered at the scrap yard.
07:45 MILL PARK. A business in Cape Road was burgled; the suspects made a hole in the window in the ally way. The suspects grabbed a router through the window.
07:57 UITENHAGE. A business in Mitchell Street was burgled; the suspects gained entry at the left hand side window. Suspects smashed the window and forced out the burglar bars. At that moment the owner could see a laptop, power tools and cash missing.
08:25 MILL PARK. A business in Cape road reported a theft incident; the owner confirmed that when he arrived on site she noticed that the copper pipping had been stolen from the premises. The owner requested response to be visible in the area.
09:45 KINKELBOS. A business at Farm Stall was burgled; the suspects forced the front door open and entered the premises. The owner confirmed that suspects cut the alarm wires to the sensor. At that moment the owner could see cooldrinks, biscuits, sweets and not certain of the amount of money missing.
10:20 WALMER. A business in Tenth Avenue was burgled; the suspects gained entry by removing the bottom window on the right hand site of the premises. Suspects entered and stole tablets, cellphones and hard-drives.
16:14 FERNGLEN. A burglary was reported in Ralston Road; the suspects forced the back sliding door open and entered the premises. The owner could see two laptops, car keys and special knives missing from site.
18:01 UITENHAGE. A business in Graaff Reinet Road reported an assault; people who were on site got into an argument. The one guy stabbed the other in the left shoulder. He ran to the premises to get help.
22:34 WESTERING. A residence in Bunny Road was burgled; entry was gained by the front door and safety gate. Two laptops, a plasma TV, clothing as well as meat was missing. One TV in the bedroom cracked as suspects tried to force it off.

17 DECEMBER 2018 MONDAY
06:09 ALGOA PARK. A business in Dyke Road reported a theft incident; customers filled up petrol and left without paying.
07:28 FAIRVIEW. A business in Willow Road reported a theft incident; the suspects cut the fence and gained entry into the premises. They went to one of the trucks and disconnected the batteries then fled.
08:26 GREENACRES. A business in Ring Road reported an armed robbery; three suspects entered the premises and pretended to be customers. They forced the owner to open the safe and stole an undisclosed amount of money. The suspects stole the master key of the premises and fled the scene.
08:44 NEWTON PARK. A business in Mangold Street was burgled; the suspect gained entry into the yard by jumping onto the flats into the owner’s yard. Suspects tried to hide their faces from the cameras. As per footage it showed that the suspects were on site on Saturday and they stole three car radio systems, a subwoofer speaker, three car batteries and an engine block. They then returned to site on Sunday to steal the canopy and loaded it onto a Nissan bakkie.
08:45 SUMMERSTRAND. A medical was reported in Bognor Street; the owner fell and has a small cut behind his head. The paramedics arrived and transported the owner to hospital.
08:53 SUMMERSTRAND. A residence in Admirality Way reported a medical; the owner was not feeling well and struggled to breathe. The paramedics stood down and transported her to hospital for further investigation.
09:10 NJOLI. A business in Njoli & Veke Street reported an armed robbery; three suspects entered the premises armed with 9mm firearms. They forced the workers to show them where the safe was and stole a large amount of cash .Suspects fled in an Avanza.
10:25 MANGOLD PARK. A residence in Norman Road was burgled; the suspects kicked the bottom part of the burglar bars at the flatlet window and gained entry. When the suspects heard the response on site they closed the window and remained quiet.
11:29 THEESECOMBE. A house robbery was reported in Butterfield Road; one of the residents called in and said that they heard a resident screaming for help on the NHW group radio. The suspects entered the premises and tried to overpower the owner. He then ran towards his vehicle and locked himself up. The suspects got away with the 32” plasma TV which they loaded onto the bakkie but couldn’t get away with it. The suspects fled on foot. 14:48 MILL PARK. A residence in College Drive reported a theft incident; response noticed while he was on his patrol that the owner gate motor cover was open. The burglar bars were intact.

16 DECEMBER 2018 SUNDAY
02:10 NEWTON PARK. A business in Second Avenue was burgled; the latch was hanging loose but the burglar bars still intact. Suspects smashed the right hand side window and bent the burglar bars.
04:16 MOTHERWELL. A business in Ngonyama Street NU1 was burgled; suspects entered through the bathroom window and the burglar bars were bent open. The suspect also made a hole in the wall.
14:11 MIRAMAR. A burglary was reported in Newcombe Avenue; the suspects removed a window from the lounge and entered. The owner is missing a TV from site.
15:33 COTSWOLD EXTENSION. A residence in Hoepoe Street was burgled; the suspects smashed the bathroom window and entered the premises. Suspects went through the entire premises. The owner is missing a cellphone, jewellery and cash. Response confirmed when the owner arrived on site the suspect was inside the premises. They then fled on foot.
18:01 CENTRAL. A business in Govan Mbeki Avenue reported an armed robbery; four armed males pointed a weapon at the staff members as they exited the front door to lock up. The suspects forced the staff back into the shop and then the alarm activated. There was no loss to the premises.
19:54 GREENBUSHES. A residence in Blomme Avenue was burgled; the suspects smashed the lock on the garage door and entered. The owner is missing a lawnmower and a jack.
20:24 NEWTON PARK. A business in Second Avenue was burgled; the back windows burglar bars were kicked in. Response secured the window as best possible and screwed the burglar bars back on. Client cannot see anything missing at this stage.
21:00 NEWTON PARK. A residence in Seventh Avenue was burgled; the suspects smashed the bottom window at the porch area. Suspects went down the passage to the last bedroom. The resident locked herself in the cupboard. Suspects stole a handbag, laptop and uniform.

15 DECEMBER 2018 SATURDAY
06:15 WALMER. A business in Sixth Avenue reported a burglary; the suspects removed the window. The suspects took two tablets, one charger and cash from the till.
10:30 BEVERLEY GROVE. A residence in Benfleur Street reported a theft incident; the suspects smashed the front widow of the vehicle and ran away.
10:13 WALMER. A residence in Twelfth Avenue was burgled; the suspects smashed the front left hand side window and gained entry. There are no burglar bars on the window. The owner is missing a laptop at this stage.
17:43 SIDWELL. An armed robbery was reported at a business in Cadle Street; four suspects entered the premises with a 9mm pistol. They got away with an undisclosed amount of cash and cigarettes.
20:56 UITENHAGE. A business in Cannon Street Cannon Hill reported a positive theft incident; the suspects entered the yard by jumping the wall. They bypassed the beams and went to the deck area. Suspects removed a 50 inch TV from the wall and fled on foot.
21:34 WESTERING. A residence in Cosmos Street was burgled; the suspects smashed the left hand side window and bent the burglar bars. A senior response officer entered the premises to check if there were any suspects on site. The owner was notified.

14 DECEMBER 2018 FRIDAY
04:19 UITENHAGE. A business in Maitland Street reported an assault; the owners’ window was smashed with a brick and the owner sustained injuries on his arm and cheek. Suspect managed to get his cellphone, wallet, house and vehicle keys.
06:29 MILL PARK. A business in King Georges Road reported a positive theft incident; the suspects removed the cover off the gate and stole two batteries that were in the car.
06:52 WALMER. A business in Sixth Avenue was burgled; the suspects removed the window on the left side of the premises. The owner cannot see anything missing.
07:02 WALMER. A business in Victoria Drive reported a positive theft incident; the suspects jumped over the palisade fencing. Suspects stole a battery.
08:13 UITENHAGE. A residence in Troskie Street reported that they saw two suspects attempt to steal items from the premises. Response arrested the suspects.
09:28 MILL PARK. A residence in Walton Road reported an attempted burglary; response reported that there were force marks on the garage door.

The checked through the window and she was lying on the floor in the passage way. Response was given permission to break the window and get into the premises. The paramedics got to site and examined her.
15:30 BROADWOOD. A residence in Patrick Road was burgled; the suspects opened the security gate and front door. At that stage there was no loss to the premises.

04:10 MIRAMAR. A vandalism incident was reported in Stratford Close; the suspects damaged the wooden fence then jumped over to a school.
04:13 PROVIDENTIA. A residence in Marcia Way reported a trespassing incident; the owner next door saw the suspects and chased after them.

00:46 KWANOBUHLE. A business in Gxiya Street was burgled; the suspects forced the security gate and the door open. Entry was gained and the owner is missing a kettle.
01:29 FERNGLEN. A house robbery was reported in Ralston Road; the suspects opened a small window at the patio and gained entry in the lounge. Suspects entered the bedroom and grabbed the owner by her throat. She confirmed there were three suspects and they stole her cellphone and jewellery.
02:03 MILL PARK. A residence in Mill Park Drive reported a medical; when the police officer approached the vehicle standing outside the premises the bodyguards thought that they were being attacked and shot at the officer. The officer was only shot on the hand and he is stable.
03:47 SUMMERSTRAND. A residence in Galpin Road was burgled; the suspects cut the electric fence to enter the yard. Suspects then forced two sliding doors open. Response reported that suspects took three cellphones.
05:45 WESTERING. A residence in Summerville Avenue was burgled; the suspects smashed the garage window. The owner said there were two suspects and caught one suspect in the garage.
11:46 UITENHAGE. A burglary was reported in Aalwyn Drive; response confirmed upon arrival he found the gate open and the front door kicked in. The owner is missing a pair of shoes and a 58 inch flat screen TV.

14:46 SOUTH END. A business in Walmer Boulevard reported an armed robbery; two male suspects entered the premises and held the cashier at gunpoint. They stole an undisclosed amount of money from the cash register.

02:34 NEWTON PARK. A business in Newton Street reported a positive burglary; the suspects forced the front security gate and front door open. Suspects took stock to a high value from site. The security officer from a store nearby reported that he witnessed the incident. He reported that it was three males, when he investigated one suspect gun pointed him, the suspects fled in a blue bakkie.
03:05 COTSWOLD EXTENSION. A trespassing incident was reported in Highfield road; while the security officer was clocking in three men approached him and tried to attack him. The security officer fled to another property.
11:54 BRIDGEMEADE. A residence in Glenconnor Avenue was burgled; the suspects bent the security gate, kicked the front door and entered the premises. The owner is missing a 48 inch plasma TV.
15:31 KWADWESI. A business in Mkwenkwe Street reported an armed robbery; three suspects entered the premises pretending to be customers. The one suspect had a firearm. The suspects stole an undisclosed amount of cash and then got into a taxi across the street and drove off.

05:39 STRUANDALE. A business in Spondo Road reported a positive burglary; the suspects made a hole in the external fence. They then used an unknown object to obstruct the electric fence. Suspects got onto the premises, the office window was smashed and entry gained.
06:32 NEWTON PARK. A business in Frank Street reported a positive burglary; the owner confirmed that the windows had been forced open over the weekend. She reported a laptop and two flash drives missing.
07:27 NEWTON PARK. A business in Fourth Avenue reported a positive burglary; the suspects forced the generator room open. The owner can see three laptops stolen. A flat screen and external hard drive was recovered.
14:18 NORTH END. A business in Govan Mbeki Avenue reported an arrest; one of the employees was on lunch when they spotted two suspects scratching in vehicles that weren’t theirs. They caught one suspect and the other one ran away.
14:05 NORTH END. A business in Crawford Street reported a positive burglary; the burglary took place over the weekend. An old passive had not picked the suspects up as they smashed the window and stole two radios and batteries.
17:37 CENTRAL. A medical was reported in Cape Road; one of the residents suffers from diabetes and passed out. The paramedics arrived on scene and will be transporting the patient to the hospital for further observation.
19:05 GREENBUSHES. A residence in Kentish Plane West reported a medical; Response reported that he met up with the owners’ wife. The owner who is 70 years of age had a stroke but response cannot confirm as the paramedics took him to hospital.

00:50 UITENHAGE. An attempted burglary was reported in Currie Street; a guard heard a noise and saw two suspects disappear into the dark. Atlas and SAPS stood down and found two suspects that were arrested.
01:06 ALGOA PARK. A residence in Dyke road reported an attempted theft incident; there were two suspects on site who attempted to steal the white Hyundai that was parked in the yard. When the owner pressed the panic the suspects ran away.
02:10 NORTH END. A business in Green Street reported that one of the workers took a vehicle from site and drove around with it. The car was left outside the premises with no fuel and the battery was removed.
02:12 ADCOCKVALE. A residence in Lovemore Crescent was burgled; the owner confirmed that that someone tried to break in to her garage. The suspect pulled the garage door open but as the alarm activated they ran away.
02:34 GREENBUSHES. A residence in Draaifontein road reported a trespassing incident; five suspects entered the yard. The owner fired a warning shot and they ran away.
02:57 PERSEVERANCE. A business in Makepeace Crescent was burgled; the suspects entered from the back and climbed on the compressor pipes. Suspects broke a section of the fibreglass sheeting open and entered the premises. The alarm then activated, the owner cannot see anything missing.
03:07 SIDWELL. A business in Cadle Street reported a positive burglary; the suspects entered at the back through the ventilation hole in the wall that leads to the bathroom. The hole was not secured very well and the suspects used that same entry point. The owner cannot see anything missing at this stage.
03:41 SWARTKOPS. A business in Old Grahamstown road was burgled; the burglary took place at one of the stores attached to this premises alarm. The suspects forced a window open, the owner cannot determine what is missing right now.
06:28 COTSWOLD EXTENSION. A residence in Arends Street reported a theft incident; the owner confirmed that she heard someone in her yard and when she looked through the window she saw someone running away. Response reported that he checked the premises and met up with the owner, the suspects stole her tap from the yard.
08:36 BLUEWATER BAY. A residence in Eileen Drive reported a burglary; the owner confirmed that the suspects managed to get over the electric fencing an proceeded to the flatlet where the alarm was not armed. The suspects could have entered via one of the windows as none of them had burglar proofing on, the owner can see three cellphones and a wallet missing. The owner took the tenant that is staying in the flatlet to the police station to open a case.
14:26 BUSHY PARK. A residence in Seaview road reported a house robbery; the owner came home from the beach when two suspects forced them into their home. The owner confirmed she can see jewellery, cellphones and a laptop missing
17:11 UITENHAGE. A business in Bloekom Gerald Smith road reported a burglary; response reported that there was a break-in last night, three suspects were arrested and there was one suspect that was not found. The suspects must have broken out of the premises during the morning.
18:21 WALMER. A business in Eighth Avenue reported that there was a fight and one guy was stabbed. Response confirmed that two men were fighting over money. The one pulled out his knife and stabbed his friend. They ran after the suspect and caught him.
18:25 NEWTON PARK. A residence in Burt Drive reported a burglary; the owner left the bedroom window open when they left. The suspects then ripped off the burglar bars of that window and gained entry. The owner confirmed a playstation, computer, computer tower and hard drive missing. The owner confirmed that he will repair the burglar bars himself.
20:11 KWADWESI. A business in Mkwenkwe road reported that one of the petrol attendants was busy pouring in petrol when the driver of the white Quantum, registration number (HZY 343 EC) was a R100.00 short to pay. The customer then hit the petrol attendant and he sped away from the premises.
20:32 UITENHAGE. A business in Gerald Smith road was burgled; the suspect entered by the hall – the door was unlocked with a key that they had. The SAPS and K9 unit entered the lab and found three suspects hiding there.
21:03 STRUANDALE. A business in Spondo Street reported a burglary; the security guard went to the bathroom. When he returned there were two suspects waiting there for him. One suspect had a knife and the other a firearm. They stole a plasma TV and his belongings.
21:06 NORTH END. A business in Hancock Street reported an attempted burglary; the suspects smashed a window but no entry gained into the property.
22:29 UITENHAGE. A business in Pepeta Street reported an armed robbery; five male suspects entered the premises. The suspects entered the shop and demanded everyone to lie down. They then took an undisclosed amount of cash, a laptop and a camera screen. The suspects left in a white vehicle, they were unable to see the registration number.

00:07 SUMMERSTRAND. A business in Beach road reported a positive theft incident; a gentleman was at a pub when he called an Uber to get home. When the Uber driver got to site he asked for the address and as the client took his cellphone out the driver took it and drove away. SAPS assisted the gentleman.
01:06 NORTH END. A business in Paterson road was burgled; the suspects smashed a big window. They then pulled a DSTV decoder through the window and fled the scene.
05:05 UITENHAGE. A business in Caledon Street reported that three friends came from a pub and went to buy food at a Service Station. The one gentleman was approached by two suspects who stole his cellphone. The victim ran after them and caught up. A fight broke out and the victim was stabbed to death. SAPS arrived and took over the scene.
06:28 PERSEVERANCE. A business in Kurland Road reported a positive burglary; the front door was forced open. The suspects had cut the corrugated sheeting and entry was gained. The owner can see grinders, toolboxes and a welder missing so far.
08:35 GREENBUSHES. A business in Blomme Avenue reported a positive burglary; the door had been kicked in and the windows of the premises had been smashed. The suspects had tried to steal a battery from a vehicle on site.
09:20 NORTH END. A business in Govan Mbeki Avenue reported an armed robbery; four male suspects entered the shop. Two suspects emptied the cash registers and one suspect emptied the safe. The suspects fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.
19:31 WESTERING. A residence in Currie Street reported a medical; one of the residents who is 74 years of age, burnt with boiling water. The ambulance service arrived and escorted the owner hospital for further medical attention.
20:32 HUMERAIL. A business in Parrott Street reported an armed robbery; one suspect armed with a firearm entered the premises and headed straight for the cash registers. The suspect informed the customers that were on site, to lie down on the floor. The suspect then roughed up the one cashier lady and demanded the other female cashier to open the cash registers. The suspect then took an undisclosed amount of money and fled on foot towards the bushes opposite a hotel.
20:40 LORRAINE. A positive burglary was reported in Macon Road; a client phoned in and advised that they heard a loud bang at a premises close by. Suspects had jumped the wall and were running down Macon road into Circular drive. The suspects forced the front sliding door open and gained entry. When the owner arrived she reported that she could not see anything missing at that stage.
20:56 FERNGLEN. A business in Stella Londt Drive reported a positive burglary; the suspects forced the front door open and gained entry, there is no security gate in front of the door. The owner confirmed that he cannot see anything missing at this stage and therefor did not open a case with SAPS.
21:15 WALMER. A business in Fifth Avenue reported a positive burglary; response reported a break-in. Suspects forced the aluminium front doors open and gained entry. The owner confirmed that a TV was stolen from the back office.
21:28 SYDENHAM. A business in Uitenhage road reported a positive theft incident; the owner of the vehicle left his vehicle to watch the game at the stadium. After the game he went to where he parked his vehicle and found that it had been stolen. Response reported that no one noticed anything and the owner does not have car tracker installed in order to track his vehicle. The owner of the Mazda was standing by for SAPS to arrive.
21:32 SUMMERSTRAND. A residence in Solomon Street reported a trespassing incident; someone reported that there were two males dislodging a gate at a premises. Response reported that the owner was watching TV when he heard a noise outside; upon investigation he saw that a suspect was trying to lift the gate off its rails. He shouted at the suspects and they ran away.
22:24 ROWALLAN PARK. A residence in Sterling Street reported a positive burglary; suspects forced a window open at the back of the property and bent the burglar bars. The room had no protection; the suspects ripped the alarm system and ransacked the entire house. Response reported that they recovered a TV, DVD player, DVD`s and a safe in the yard, the safe was still secure. SAPS arrived on site but left as client is not on site to open a case.
23:21 WESTERING. A residence in Petronella Street reported a vandalism incident; the suspects unscrewed the bulbs of the outside lights. Suspects also blocked the front outside gate for the dogs.

7 DECEMBER 2018 FRIDAY
01:58 MILL PARK. A residence in Reitz Road reported a positive burglary; response was on patrol when they saw the owners’ vehicle door open. They went and woke the owner up and that is when they noticed the back door key was used to open the back door. A plasma TV was stolen with cash that was in the owners’ wallet. The response spotted the suspect but he fled on foot and couldn’t be found.
02:56 LORRAINE. A residence in Circular Drive reported a positive burglary; the suspects forced the lounge window open and kicked in the burglar bars. The owner confirmed that he saw cellphones and an Xbox missing.
06:18 KRAGGA KAMMA. A business in Kragga Kamma Road reported an attempted burglary; the bakery door was tempered with. The suspects forced the outside security door of the bakery open, no entry was gained.
11:37 NEWTON PARK. A residence in Kinnerlsey Street reported a positive burglary; two suspects wearing blue overalls that were running away from the premises. The suspects smashed the lounge window; the owner could see that a laptop and cellphone was missing.
13:25 SIDWELL. A business in Cadle street reported an armed robbery; three suspects, two armed and wearing grey tops. Response reported that he met up with the owner, he saw three suspicious males entering the shop, at the same time the owner pressed the panic. The suspects held the cashiers up and an undisclosed amount of money was taken.
20:47 UITENHAGE. A residence in Hex River Street reported a positive theft incident; the owner phoned in to notify control room that a grey Toyota corolla was stolen out of the front yard. Response reported that he received information from the neighbourhood watch that one of the people on the group have cameras on site, reported that a white Golf was following the vehicle but they were not able to make out the registration plates. Response was excused from site.
23:28 GREENACRES. A business in Ring Road reported an armed robbery; a male suspect entered the premises and gun pointed the petrol attendant that was inside the shop and ordered him to lie down on the floor. The suspect then hit the cashier on the head with the pistol and forced her to open the till, as per the cashier when the suspect hit her on the head she felt that the blow did not feel like a real weapon but that it felt like a toy gun. She then stopped the suspect from taking more money and he fled.

6 DECEMBER 2018 THURSDAY
19:39 KWANOBHULE. A business in Matanzima road reported an armed robbery; four suspects arrived at the premises in a Toyota Hilux bakkie, they were all armed with 9mm firearms. They assaulted the manager, stole money from the safe and the cash registers and fled. When they fled they hijacked a green Hyundai, registration number (DSW153EC) the vehicle was later recovered in Kwanobuhle by SAPS members
21:45 WESTERING. A residence in Petronella Street reported a positive burglary; the owner confirmed that they returned from a patrol and saw lights at the back of their premises. The suspects tried to enter by opening the bathroom window and removing the burglar bars. No entry gained.
23:46 WALMER. A positive burglary was reported in Heugh road; the suspects forced a small window open and took energy drinks.
19:55 WALMER. A residence in Fordyce Road reported a positive burglary; the suspects lifted the front gate off its rail and forced the security gate open. They managed to kick the front door open. The suspects ransacked the house. A plasma TV and laptop were reported missing.
20:46 MILLARD GRANGE. A business in Bond Street reported a positive burglary; the suspects forced the security gate and front door open. They entered the premises and passed through the inter leading door to the premises next door.

5 DECEMBER 2018 WEDNESDAY
04:20 KINI BAY. A positive burglary was reported in Kini Sweep; the suspects forced open the back door and went upstairs where they took a flat screen TV and a cellphone. Response retrieved only the flat screen TV in the bushes.
04:23 KINI BAY. The TV from next door burglary was found as the owner saw three suspects in the yard.
08:59 MILL PARK. A business in Cape road reported a positive theft incident; the owner confirmed that an extension lead was stolen. The extension lead was running towards the outside of the premises and pulled through the window.
10:18 SUMMERSTRAND. A medical was reported in Admirality Way; the resident who is 71 years of age choked on something that she ate. The paramedics stood down and stabilised her.
10:39 CENTRAL. A business in Govan Mbeki Avenue reported a positive burglary; the owner called in and said that a window was broken in the night. The suspects then used a piece of wire to pull items through the window. The suspects took cellphone accessories.
11:23 GEDULDSRIVIER. A business reported a positive burglary; suspects got in through the generator room and stole two cans filled with fuel.
12:04 UITENHAGE. A residence in Gardenia Drive Strelitzia Park reported an attempted theft incident; someone stole her sons’ bike out of the garage. Response reported that the owner was busy working in his garage and left the garage open when he stepped out for a moment, when he returned he noticed that the bicycle was gone. Response reported that a member of the public who also searched the area found the suspect with the stolen bicycle.
14:01 COTSWOLD EXTENSION. A residence in Hoepoe Street reported an attempted burglary; there were force marks on the window frame but the window sill was still intact. No entry gained.
14:19 WALMER. A positive theft incident was reported in Villiers Road; three suspects walked into the practice pretending to be patients. They walked to the garden area and stole a lady’s handbag which had cash and cards in.
16:18 SHERWOOD. A positive burglary was reported in Hampshire Street; the suspects entered using the kitchen door. The suspects cut the padlock open on the security gate and forced the door open. The owner reported that cash was missing.

02:01 FERGUSON. A residence in Juta Road reported a trespassing incident; the owner was in his bedroom when his beams activated. The owner went out by the front door and caught the suspect. Suspect was handed over to SAPS.
03:18 UITENHAGE. An arrest was reported in Schonland Street; the suspect stole pipes at the premises. Response caught the suspect.
09:24 WALMER. A business in Church road reported a trespassing incident; the owner phoned in and reported that there were intruders in the yard. She saw on the CCTV cameras the following morning.
04:30 CENTRAL. A business in Albany Road reported a positive burglary; the suspects gained entry by lifting the security gate off its rail. The suspects opened a cabinet and stole a safe containing an undisclosed amount of cash. They opened another cabinet where they stole alcohol.
10:42 MILL PARK. A business in Cape road reported a positive theft incident; the owner informed us of the two pot plants that were stolen. Response reported that the suspects jumped over the perimeter wall and stole the two pot plants from the yard.
12:07 SIDWELL. A business in Cadle Street reported an armed robbery; three males entered the store. One suspect had a firearm. The suspects took an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the store. No shots were fired and no injuries on site.
14:11 KINI BAY. A residence in Kini Sweep reported an attempted burglary; the suspects tried to gain entry at the sliding door but could not get in.
14:51 LORRAINE. A medical was reported in Trevor road; an 82 year old lady fell. 82 year old lady Fell and fractured her hip. The ambulance took the lady to hospital for the night.
19:27 KWADWESI. A business in Mkwenkwe Street reported an armed robbery; response reported that he received information that two males entered the premises armed with 9mm firearms. The suspects took an undisclosed amount of cash and fled.
21:03 SUMMERSTRAND. A robbery from person was reported in Gommery Place; a member of the public called in and said that they were walking close to the university when a small vehicle pulled up next to them and pointed firearms at them. They took their cellphones and house keys.

07:26 WALMER HEIGHTS. A business in Seventeenth Avenue reported an armed robbery; four males with firearms entered the premises and tied up the staff and customers with cable ties. Suspects went to the back and emptied two safes. They stole an undisclosed amount of cash. Suspects fled on foot towards Greenshields Park.
07:55 KORSTEN. A business in Berg Street was burgled; the suspects gained entry through the roof in the office area. Suspects made holes in the partitioning of the offices. The owner confirmed that an undisclosed amount of cash is missing.
08:20 NORTH END. A business in Short Road was burgled; the suspects entered through the back court yard area. Suspect removed a passive in the court yard and forced the double door open. The owner confirmed a scale, computer and power tools missing.
10:10 UITENHAGE. A residence in Rich Street reported a robbery from person; there was a lady who had been robbed in front of the premises by an armed male. A member of the public witnessed what happened and chased after the suspect. He was then shot in stomach by the suspect.
11:17 NORTH END. A business in Crawford Street was burgled; the suspects entered the premises via the roof and exited through the window by kicking in the burglar bars. Suspects also ripped the alarm panel.
19:25 WALMER. A residence in Fordyce Road was burgled; the next door neighbour saw two males carrying a big TV towards the bush. When the armed response investigated they found that the suspects had forced the lounge doors open and gained entry. They removed a TV and a watch.

02:38 BOOYSENS PARK. A residence in Booysen Park Drive was burgled; the suspects smashed the front lounge window to gain entry. A plasma TV is missing from the premises.
04:54 ST GEORGES PARK. A business in How Avenue was burgled; the suspects lifted the driveway gate in the parking area and forced the front door open. Entry gained. Suspects ransacked the entire premises. Cash is missing from the petty cash.
11:49 CENTRAL. A business in Pearson Street was burgled; the suspect smashed the window and then lifted the burglar bars. The owners’ golf carrier bag was recovered.
14:26 MOUNT CROIX. An institute in Bayview Avenue reported an attempted burglary; the suspect forced the door open. No entry gained.
16:40 PERSEVERANCE. A business in Kurland Road was burgled; the suspects used a chair at the back of the premises and got onto the roof. Suspect lifted the roof sheeting. Suspects smashed the office and boardroom window. Two screens and a laptop were stolen.

07:41 GREENBUSHES. A business in Blomme Avenue was burgled; the suspects gained entry over the fence. They got into the yard and broke a window. Suspects broke the back window of the one container and entered. Radios were taken out of the vehicles as well as a spare wheel.
14:11 NEWTON PARK. A business in Second Avenue was burgled; the suspects broke one of the office windows.
09:13 KABEGA PARK. A burglary was reported in Aliwal Street; the suspects smashed the main bedroom window and kicked in the burglar bars. The suspects gained entry into the bedroom. Suspects ripped the alarm system. A plasma TV was reported missing.
11:33 KORSTEN. A business in Perl Street reported a medical; response reported that they were on patrol and saw someone lying on his stomach. Response turned him around and the deceased was already blue in the face.
17:07 KENAKO. An armed robbery was reported at a mall in Spondo Road; three male suspects entered the shop and one had a firearm. Suspects took cash out of the cash registers.
