In the early hours of Tuesday morning, our vigilant Atlas Security team successfully apprehended a suspect at a business premises in Baakens Valley, showcasing our commitment to fast response and effective security measures.

Just after 4:30 am, our control room received an alert from a business premises in the area. The client quickly confirmed they could see an individual on their property through their CCTV system. Our control room operators immediately asked for a description of the intruder.

In just over two minutes, our armed response team arrived on the scene. The suspect attempted to escape by jumping over the wall to an adjacent property. However, our dedicated Armed Response Officer, B17, was quick to apprehend the individual in the yard. We then needed confirmation that this was the same person seen on the CCTV footage. The client positively identified the suspect, who was then arrested for attempting to steal audio equipment.

We are pleased to report that the client has opened a case with the SAPS, and there was no loss of property thanks to our rapid response.

This incident highlights the critical importance of our control room receiving a signal when there is a potential threat. Our fast response times are crucial in minimizing or preventing losses and ensuring the safety and security of our clients. In this case, it led to the successful arrest of a suspect.
