Atlas Security Arrests Alleged Armed Robber In Hijacked Vehicle!

4 males thought they had it all figured out when they hijacked a car in Bethelsdorp, which they were going to use to carry out their plan to rob a business in Buffelsfontein, Mount Pleasant.

The armed suspects entered the shop and stole cigarettes and a safe. Atlas Security Armed Response arrived on scene as the getaway vehicle was getting away. Information of the vehicle was handed over to the Atlas Security Control Room who then distributed out to various other Armed Response units that were responding to the incident.

Atlas Security Armed Response Officer B14, who was en route to the scene, passed the vehicle as it was trying to work it’s way through traffic at the intersection of William Moffett and Main Road. B14 went over the grass area to block the vehicle in and was able to arrest one suspect. The three others managed to get away.

Another example of how teamwork and effective communication led to the arrest of a suspect, recovery of a stolen firearm, recovery of a hijacked vehicle and the recovery of stolen items.

In separate successful events for the day for Atlas Security, a suspect was arrested in Walmer for attempted burglary, another arrest was made by the community in Humerail for trespassing, and a fourth arrest for the day was executed in Uitenhage when Armed Response caught a suspect stealing.
