This weekend saw Atlas Security playing vital roles in 15 arrests over the weekend in various events, which is a sign that we are not backing down from crime, we are standing up and fighting for the safety of our community.
While patrolling in Walmer, an Atlas Armed Response Officer noticed two males acting suspiciously so he decided to gather more intel before approaching them. He parked his vehicle further down the road and got closer on foot without the suspects noticing that they were being watched. The instincts of the Officer were spot on as the two males proceeded to break into a business in Heugh Road by removing the glass of the front door. Back up was called and one of the two suspects were arrested, the second suspect managed to escape without the loot through the back of the premises.
A business in Summerstrand was the host to an incident of violence when a group of three men started harassing another group of men for what was explained as no apparent reason. After the situation got heated the SAPS and Atlas Security was called in to contain the situation, and after some resistance from the three suspects, they were arrested.
After receiving a panic signal from a church in Uitenhage, Atlas Security Armed Response arrived to discover that the public was being harassed for money by a male with a knife. Upon further investigation, it was found that the male had attempted to stab various members of the public at a local mall. The suspect was placed under arrest and handed over to the SAPS.
One suspect was arrested after he broke into a residence in Richmond Hill. The Atlas Security Control Room received the signal and Armed Response was despatched, an efficient response from the team was the main reason for the success of the arrest.
After a shooting incident in Mount Pleasant, one suspect was arrested by the SAPS after witnesses were able to help identify the suspect. Atlas Security was on the scene.
In an ongoing case, 8 suspects were arrested by the SAPS in a case of stock theft with the help of the tracking capabilities of the Atlas Security CCTV Division.
In other events over the weekend, an Armed Response Officer was alerted to a fire on a clients premises in Uitenhage. Back up was called for and the Fire Brigade was informed. While waiting for the Fire Brigade to arrive, Atlas Security Armed Response Officers took the initiative to move various flammable material away from the fire and make an effort to contain the blaze as best they could. The Fire Brigade arrived and the flames were contained.
The Atlas security Control room received a signal from a residence in Parsons Hill and immediately despatched Armed Response, the suspect was still on the premises when the officer arrived at the premises, but unfortunately the suspect escaped via the back of the property, quick response ensured that there was no loss to the client.
