Atlas Security Cracks Down On Crime With 6 Arrests During The Weekend
Several suspects were apprehended by our vigilant Atlas Security Armed Response Officers, in multiple incidents this weekend.
In the first bust, Atlas Security Armed Response Officer’s swift response to a residential break-in in Charlo led to the arrest of two suspect shortly after 9am on Friday morning.
Atlas Security’s Operations Manager, Monty Montgomery said that the Armed Response Officers responded to an alarm activation in Charlo “When the Armed Response Officer responded to the property he identified that it was a break-in and also noticed three suspects fleeing the scene. He immediately called for back-up and alerted the team in the Greenshields Park area where they were seen fleeing”.
The team immediately cornered off the area in which the suspects were heading towards. Atlas Security Armed Response Officers B15 and B2 caught the two suspects and arrested them along with the stolen TV. Members of the SAPS attended the scene as well as the K9 Unit which swept the area to check whether the other suspect was still hiding in the bushes.
Monty commended the officers for their swift response and quick thinking at the scene which led to the arrest of two suspects. “We are committed to the fight against crime in the communities that we serve and we are determined to bring criminals to book and to ensure they face the full wrath of the law for their crimes”. The SAPS have confirmed that the two arrested are wanted for other house break-ins that occurred in Walmer and surrounding areas.
Three suspects were apprehended by our vigilant Atlas Security Armed Response officers, in three separate incidents during Saturday night.
In the first incident, Atlas Security Armed Response Officer, B60 responded to an alarm activation in Walmer, Heugh Road. To the suspect’s surprise, he was greeted by our Armed Response Officer as he exited the window he had smashed to gain initial entry. The suspect was arrested and handed over to the SAPS.
In Uitenhage, a client alerted us that there were suspects spotted on their CCTV attempting to vandalize and steal air conditioning units on a business premises.
On arrival, Atlas Security Armed Response Officer, B84 noticed the electric fence had been cut and spotted one suspect hiding. It is believed there were more suspects involved but that they had fled. The one suspect was arrested and handed over to the SAPS.
In the third incident a client in South End alerted us that there was someone in his yard and trying to break-in through the roof. Atlas Security’s Armed Response Officer, B15 arrived and spotted a suspect on another property’s roof. The suspect while trying to flee fell through the roof. He was then arrested by our Armed Response Officer.
All three areas have been targeted in recent break-ins. We hope that the latest arrests sends a message to criminals … watch your back, we’re taking back our communities!
Proactive policing by an Atlas Security Armed Response Officer led to the arrest of an alleged thief in a Sunridge Park home on Sunday.
Atlas Security Operations Manager, Monty Montgomery said the officer was patrolling the neighbourhood in the vicinity of Canna and Aster when he spotted an individual riding a mountain bike past him, when the individual noticed that the Armed Response Officer was watching him, he got off the mountain bike and walked away. Atlas Security Armed Response Officer, B150 approached the individual and questioned him about the bicycle, which he claimed he found in the bushes. The individual was unable to show our officer where he found the bike.
Officer B150 took to the local Neighbourhood Watch WhatsApp Group and circulated the photo, in the hopes that a resident would be able to identify it. A few minutes later, a resident responded on the WhatsApp group and met up with our officer. When the resident left his home he noticed that the garage roller door was forced open and his bicycle was missing. He identified the mountain bike and Atlas Security Armed Response Officer, B150 arrested the suspect.
