With 2019 drawing to an end and everyone preparing for the festive season, we take the opportunity to look back at crime for this period and how we have managed to gain the upper hand on it.
In 2019 we were faced with a tragic murder in Kleinemonde and an increase in business crime across our region. The crime spree was however short lived as Atlas Security and Multi Security formed a solid working partnership which allowed us to tackle the sudden increase in crime head on. With all our local armed response officers being put through extreme tactical and first aid training, tough firearm regulation training, and making sure that they are fully compliant with all firearm regulations, which includes both private and business competency, meant a solid team to be reckoned with. With our highly skilled ex-police academy trainer, Conrad Cloete running our team through the training, the change in uniform, and the amalgamation of our forces, gave our proud and motivated officers the tools to respond to these incidents, which ultimately led to an increase of arrests.
With the renewed energy in our response team we decided to give our local control room the solid back up of a state-of-the-art SAIDSA approved control room in PE. Dual monitoring alarms and social media (WhatsApp and Telegram Watch Groups) allowed a personal approach and touch to be strengthened with infrastructure and stability.
With safety and efficiency being our main focus, having both control rooms monitor allows for better management of resources which leads to better services to our customers. Atlas/Multi Security is now the only company in our area that has a SIADSA approved control room backing up our locally based one. With all calls that go in and out of the company now being recorded and all response vehicles fitted with trackers to ensure that our fleet is tracked and monitored 24/7, we are able to best manage our daily processes and procedures to ensure successful and efficient service delivery. GPRs tablet base systems were installed into all the vehicles allowing for quick response times to alarm activations.
Having our team performing on full throttle we decided to take it up another notch by increasing our camera footprint around the CBD, residential and rural areas. Our CCTV camera infrastructure has led to solid arrests and has been a proactive approach in the fight against crime. This year also saw the Agri SA CCTV camera project grow which led to us celebrating our 1000th camera being streamed live into our control room.
Atlas/Multi Security is all about the safety of our community, as we raise our children here too. With multiple community self-defense and safety workshops being presented throughout the year, we really focused on empowering targeted groups like women, children and the elderly. Even supporting local business, sporting and school events to ensure that our community members are kept safe and sound while going about their business and enjoying freedom our sunshine coast offers.
With our focus on offering the best of the best service, peace of mind to our community, and with our partnership with the local SAPS and law enforcement departments, we can confidently say that we are winning in the war against crime in our area.
Multi/Atlas Security will endeavour to grow from strength to strength, and we thank our clients for the loyal support throughout the year.
