As we move into the long Easter weekend, we want to address a pressing concern that affects us all: the rise in crime across our city. Recent statistics for February and March show a troubling trend that we at Atlas Security are determined to confront head-on.

Nelson Mandela Bay Crime Statistics:

February 2024: 409 total incidents, with 108 break-ins.
March 2024 (MTD): 291 total incidents, with 73 break-ins.

These numbers are a stark reminder of the challenges we face and the importance of vigilance. In response, Atlas Security is ramping up our operational presence throughout the city. Our goal is not just to respond to incidents but to actively prevent them, mitigate losses, and ensure that arrests are made swiftly should a positive signal be received.

As part of our proactive approach, we are:

Increasing Patrols: More frequent patrols in high-risk areas to deter criminal activity. Particularly in our DPS areas and areas on the border of the Baakens Valley

Community Collaboration: Working closely with local authorities and community leaders to develop comprehensive security strategies.

Technology Integration: Utilizing the latest security technologies to monitor and respond to threats more efficiently.

With the Easter Weekend upon us, we recognize that many homes may be unoccupied. We urge you to arm your alarm systems and inform our control room if you will be away. This simple action can make a significant difference in the safety of your property.

Should you notice any suspicious activity, please do not hesitate to contact us immediately. Your reports are invaluable to our collective security efforts.

Together, we can create a safer Nelson Mandela Bay. Thank you for placing your trust in Atlas Security.

Stay safe and vigilant.
