In July 2024, Atlas Security recorded a total of 399 incidents. This month saw a range of incidents, including break-ins, thefts, medical emergencies, and armed robberies. The top affected areas were:

1. Uitenhage: 55 incidents

2. Walmer: 36 incidents

3. North End: 19 incidents

4. Newton Park: 17 incidents

Key Incidents and Responses

• Break-ins: There were 71 break-ins. Enhanced patrolling and community awareness programs have helped identify and secure vulnerable properties.

• Theft: Theft incidents totaled 87. Atlas Security’s quick response and collaboration with local role players, including SAPS, NHW resulted in multiple arrests and recovery of stolen goods.

• Medical Emergencies: Medical incidents (43) highlight the importance of rapid response teams in providing timely assistance to residents. All of our armed response officers are medically trained. 

• Robbery and Armed Robbery: Robbery-related incidents, including armed robbery, stood at 22. Improved surveillance and faster deployment of armed response teams have helped in reducing the severity and frequency of these incidents in Nelson Mandela Bay. 

Success Stories

Atlas Security’s efforts in July have yielded several successes:

• Swift Response: In many cases, Atlas Security’s rapid response teams have been able to prevent crimes in progress, leading to immediate arrests and recovery of stolen property.

To further bring down the numbers, Atlas Security is:

• Strengthening Community Ties: Ongoing collaboration with community leaders and residents to create a cohesive network of vigilance and rapid information sharing.

• Training and Development: Regular training sessions for response teams to handle a variety of emergency situations more effectively.
