This week, Monty Montgomery, Atlas Operations Manager, focuses on successful arrests made this week. Monty particularly highlights one made last year in Sunridge Park who was sentenced this week. This kind of sentencing can only happen when every single victim opens a case with the Police. The more cases we open, the more criminals behind bars, more cases closed and harsher sentences issued.
Our stance on zero tolerance has led to some great arrests this month. Click here to read more about the number of arrests. Even trespassers were given a hard time by our Response Officers and the community.
Atlas would like to emphasize the importance of opening a criminal case with the Police. Atlas is trying to go the extra mile by arresting criminals in an attempt to get them off the streets. When victims opt not to open a case with the Police, it means that the suspects will be released and they could end up committing the same crime – or a more serious crime.
Sometimes, the Police are possibly busy at the time of your incident, thereby causing a delay in their response to your house/business. Do not allow this to put a damper on things. Another alternative is to drive to your nearest Police Station at a later stage and open a case.
The more cases that are opened, the more Police presence in your area, which will result in additional Police staff and vehicles allocated to your area, but failure to open a case will give the impression that crime is under control in your area – which is not always the case.
The second week of the winter holidays is done and dusted. We have managed to keep residential crimes on the low down and managed to avoid large losses. Remember that the more signals Atlas receives, the better. It minimizes losses and increases the probability of making an arrest.
A few attempted burglaries occurred and these are thanks to good response times and high visibility in your area. This means that criminals opted to flee rather than be arrested.
Monty proudly shares that our DPS areas are well cared for by our dedicated Response Officers. Crime and are fairly under control and he urges residents to keep up the good work by keeping a look-out and reporting what they see. Information sharing is vital and it is important for each DPS area to keep their area crime free. The success for this also includes security cameras and a robust neighbourhood watch group.
To share in all the benefits of this service, Monty urges all residents to join the DPS service. It emphasizes unity in all aspects and increases your level of service for you privately and your neighbourhood.
Hijackings and armed robberies: Monty asks all readers to please be careful when they’re out and about. Be alert and observe. Do not be distracted when you’re driving or walking around in public.
Monty reports that the elderly are still being targeted out there on a weekly basis. They are left battered and bruised after house robbers have gotten hold of them. Most of these victims have no security measures in place and have absolutely no way to call for help. There are various options in place to safeguard the elderly. Contact our office on 0861 585 585 or email email@example.com to find out more.
Please keep up the good work and help us keep our city safe and avoid losses. Stay safe and rest assured that your world is safe in Atlas’ hands.
