Monty’s Crime Report: SAPS Crime Stats Show DPS Areas Are Not Affected By The General Increase In All Crimes
Monty Montgomery, Atlas Security Operations Manager still believes that the best way to curb crime is to make arrests. Take them off the streets and escort them through the justice system. He commends citizens for assisting in the fight against crime. The only way we can make arrests is if we work together, arm those alarms and report any suspicious activity.
Monty said “Crime is rife in the Bay with all types of crimes taking place in the Metro. I’d like to remind our clients that it is a full time job ensuring that nobody gets hurt. We as staff have been under attack as well with our fellow uniformed friends for our fire arms. Please ensure when mobilizing our members you give as much info as possible to enable him to approach the scene with correct expectation to safeguard you as client.”
Our city is also riddled with theft of and out of motor vehicle as well as hijackings. Be safe when you’re out and about – make sure you have the right tools to defend yourself. With muggings, hijackings and other contact crime on the rise it is important that you arm yourself with the correct weapons for effective self-defence. Pleas ensure if you see something you do something get help and immediately mobilize your visibility by letting us know.
Home invasions are still a great concern Monty mentioned – the elderly are being targeted. Keep your eyes and ears peeled, make sure you have a good relationship with your neighbour and don’t ignore foreign activity or sounds.
Lastly Monty pleads with the public to look out for their elderly family members. Firstly, make sure that they have an alarm system and know how to use it during the day and night. Ensure that they have a safe room that can lock should they find themselves in an emergency. The elderly must please be aware of people knocking on doors while they are alone at home during the day, as they might have the intention of sussing out houses. He also warns that elderly people were also recently targeted, tied up and beaten for loot. He urges families to look after their elderly as well as their children. The last thing we want happen is for them to be unexpectedly surprised by someone next to their bed.
Stay safe and rest assured, your world is secure in Atlas’ hands.
