Monty’s Crime Report: Sharp increase in petty crime!
This past week has been considerably well under the circumstances as reported by Monty Montgomery, Atlas Security Operations Manager. The week has not been the worst we’ve ever seen. It consists of good arrests and great stand-down times with help from our CCTV cameras. We have managed to stay in control but opportunists still remain full of plans.
Unfortunately criminals managed to disable a few Domestic and business alarms. They were sharp and rapid at their “job”. They successfully disabled alarms and removed window panes without waking the residents. A trend at the moment is to access your roof, get into the ceiling and “rip” the panel of the alarm. This is the heart of your system, if it is not properly secured, this will disable the alarm and in some cases it cuts our control room from receiving any signal. We’d recommend that you have a roof passive installed and additional protection be added to the panel of your alarm.
Monty says “Our learners, students and pedestrians are still being targeted. Especially during the exam times. Take extra care and look after each other, if you’re walking in an open public space, observe your surroundings and keep your head up, try not to be texting on your phone”
Petty crime is still on the go due to the substance abusers and high number of homeless people. Valuables are still being left unprotected.
Please be careful of people trying to enter your premises under false pretences. Do not open for anyone that you haven’t arranged with or are expecting.
Let’s take control and be careful. Stay safe and rest assured, your world is secure in Atlas’ hands.
