As we start heading towards more structured days – back to work and school, we noticed in the week of the 6th – 13th January that crime trends were very scattered even though many people have a set routine now in place.
We had a total of 25 burglaries, of which, most occurred on a Friday between 01:00 am – 11:00am. There were many areas that suffered losses – with Sidwell being the highest.
The most common entry point was roof entry and window entry. In the past two days we have come across two burglaries at educational institutions – being the start of the year. We ask you to exercise extra caution at drop-off and pick-up points with your child/children. Make sure they are always in a safe area and, should there be any type of intrusion, they are well aware of what to do.
The last thing we, as parents/guardians, want to do is instill fear into our children but it is more about keeping them well informed of possibilities and safe guarding them from any potential risks.
