Atlas Security hosted a special DPS (Dedicated Patrol Service) community meeting on Monday, 8 July at Little Walmer Golf Club.
The meeting focused on the safety and security in the area including trends and incidents between the inception of the CCTV installation in 2017 to current incidents and security. Community Development Manager, Bernadette Nel-Naude also discussed the benefits of being an active DPS client and how communication on specific groups (Telegram & WhatsApp) will roll out going forward. It was decided by the community and the new ‘Upper Walmer’ DPS Committee that only Atlas Security clients would form part of the current Telegram 911 Group, this group is a pro-active service offered by Atlas Security and monitored by our control room 24/7.
Below is a table of events, starting with the first 6 months of 2017, where a total number of 22 break-ins were reported in the area alone. Late 2017/early 2018 is when Atlas Security started with it’s CCTV infrastructure roll out in the area, with fantastic results. The table also shows you Port Elizabeth Vs. Upper Walmer.
A number of questions were raised in terms of our CCTV cameras operating in your area. Atlas Security’s CCTV Manager, Jason Kümm has answered your questions below
Among the great benefits of being a DPS client, two were highlighted by the committee last night
Dedicated Control Centre Team:
You enjoy the service of a dedicated team in our control room. All areas have their own number, operators and dispatchers who only man the DPS desk. As with the relationship with the officer, so the DPS controllers and the dispatchers too, develop a relationship with, you, their clientele.
You can request the officer (via the control room) in your area to meet you at your entrance if you are feeling threatened at all – he will ensure that you are safely in your home.
We’d like to thank all residents who took the time to join us at our community meeting. We’ll continue engaging with our clients to deliver the best service in the area and maintain and uplift the strong presence of Atlas Security and the infrastructure of CCTV.
