CCTV Detection Leads to Arrest in DPS Area: Mill Mark

A routine early-morning CCTV patrol within Gqeberha’s Dedicated Patrol Site (DPS) Mill Park resulted in the swift arrest of a theft suspect, after Atlas Security armed response team detected suspicious activity in real time and armed response units acted decisively.
Early this morning Atlas Security’s Control Room, was actively monitoring a DPS area. The CCTV network, within Mill Park observed the suspect walking suspicious.
Armed Response Officer Bravo 37 was dispatched without delay. Upon arrival, Bravo 37 located the suspect in the street near the premises. When confronted, the suspect fled on foot, attempting to escape through the DPS area toward Cape Road.
Maintaining constant communication with the Control Room, Bravo 37pursued the suspect through the area, ensuring uninterrupted visibility and coordination.
The pursuit ended when Bravo 37 successfully detained the suspect. During the escape attempt, the suspect dropped the stolen water meter, which was later recovered in Cape Road.
The incident was officially logged as an arrest, reinforcing the effectiveness of proactive CCTV monitoring combined with rapid on-the-ground response within DPS protected areas.
SAPS responded to the scene. A case was opened and the suspect was formally arrested.
This arrest highlights the power of real-time CCTV intelligence, rapid dispatch and decisive response within a DPS area. The coordinated effort between Control Room operators and armed response officer Bravo 37ensured the suspect was identified, pursued, apprehended and handed over all within minutes.

Arrest: Penford, Uitenhage

In the early hours of the morning, Atlas Security’s Control Room received a phone in alert from a client in Penford, Uitenhage, reporting a suspected theft from his vehicle. The client confirmed that his credit card holder was missing and advised that it had been left inside the vehicle. Our Armed Response Officers was immediately dispatched, with the client verifying his details while checking if any additional items had been taken.
