From the MD’s Desk
Holiday Edition – December 2025
By Craig Kerr, Managing Director of Atlas Security

As we head into the holiday season, I’ve been taking stock of everything 2025 brought our way, and it has truly been a defining year for Atlas Security. It was a year shaped by growth, innovation, and a renewed commitment to serving our communities with the highest standards of protection.

One of our standout achievements was the opening of our Uitenhage/Kariega satellite branch. This expansion strengthened our reach and deepened our promise to bring faster, more visible security to the communities we serve. The response has been exceptional, and the impact already felt.

Next year, we’ll be adding another satellite branch, this time in Walmer. It’s an area experiencing rapid growth, with new businesses, developments, and investment transforming the landscape. This branch will support that growth and ensure the area receives the same level of protection and service our clients have come to expect.

We also introduced a new layer of communication with our clients through our WhatsApp Support portal. It’s a simple tool, but it has changed the way people connect with us. Whether someone needs technical help, sales support, admin assistance, or guidance from our customer service team, help is now just a quick message away. With more hands on deck, we’ve made our service more accessible and more personal.

Our new alarm system packages were another major highlight. Starting from R399pm, our entry package includes installation, monitoring, armed response, and full Smart App control of your alarm system. The packages go up to our R599pm Ultimate Security option, giving clients affordable, flexible solutions tailored to their needs. These offerings were designed with one clear goal: make proper protection accessible to more households.

We also refreshed our brand this year. You may have noticed the cleaner, more minimalistic look on our vehicles and our updated warning boards on homes and businesses. If you haven’t seen one yet, you will soon. The refreshed design reflects a company that’s modern, confident, and continually evolving.

Operationally, the numbers say it all. Our control room responded to 1.6 million alarm activations this year. That level of activity demands robust infrastructure, and we are committed to growing in step with the demand. Our control room expansion and the addition of a new CCTV wall will position us to handle even more in 2026, with upgraded technology that will enhance our monitoring abilities and extend our offerings to clients - watch this space!

A major development this year was our partnership with Vuma. Vumacam in Gauteng has built an incredibly successful smart surveillance model in Johannesburg, and now Atlas Security is partnering with Vuma to bring similar enhancements to Nelson Mandela Bay. This collaboration represents a significant step towards modernising and expanding our CCTV network, giving us even sharper tools to prevent crime before it happens.

Of course, none of this means anything without the people behind it. To the Atlas team: thank you!

Your professionalism, commitment, and heart are what keep this company moving forward. From our armed response officers to our control room operators, from our technical teams to our support staff, every one of you plays a crucial part in what we achieve.

And I want to put a clear, bold line here for our clients:

To our loyal customers, thank you!

Your trust and continuous loyalty are the reason this company exists. Without you, there is no Atlas Security. Every investment we make, every expansion we plan, every technological advancement we introduce, is because you trust us to protect what matters most.

As we move into 2026, the road ahead is exciting. New technologies, expanded CCTV capabilities, a new satellite branch in Walmer, and continued investment in our people and infrastructure will set the tone for another year of progress.

May this festive season bring you rest, safety, and time with the people who matter. Our teams will be on duty, as always, ensuring your world stays secure.

Thank you for an unforgettable 2025. Here’s to the year ahead.

Best regards,

Craig Kerr Managing Director, Atlas Security
