Atlas Security responded to 116 incidents across Nelson Mandela Bay between Monday 20 April and Sunday 26 April. Activity was spread across 53 suburbs, with our teams attending to a mix of residential and commercial calls, medical events, and on-the-road incidents.
This week showed a 8.7 percent decrease in overall activity compared to the previous week (127 incidents). It is encouraging to see the numbers ease, although patterns remained consistent: theft and theft attempts continued to dominate, alongside steady burglary activity. Our officers also responded to 21 medical calls during the period, a reminder that Atlas Security is often the first point of contact in a wider community emergency.

Theft remained the most common incident type, followed closely by medical calls and theft attempts. Burglary activity sat at 28 cases combined (14 positive, 14 attempted). Robbery-related incidents totalled 5 for the week.
A drop of 11 incidents week-on-week is a positive shift, particularly on the residential side where activity fell by more than 20 percent. Commercial activity edged up, which our teams will keep a close eye ongoing into the new month.
As always, the strongest results come from the partnership between our officers, our control room, and the communities we serve. Reporting suspicious activity early, locking up properly before leaving home, and keeping cars and valuables out of plain sight all add up. Our control room is on standby 24 hours a day on 0861 585 585.
