FOUR ARRESTED DURING SIDWELL SUBSTATION BREAK-IN

Crime

Earlier this week, while responding to an alarm in the Sidwell area, Atlas Security armed response officer, Bravo 115 uncovered a cable theft in progress at a local substation.

Cable theft is a recurring issue in Nelson Mandela Bay. It affects many different sectors (electricity substations, street lighting, traffic lights and public health facilities)

Four suspects were found hiding inside and were immediately detained. Due to the extent of the damage, guards were positioned at the site overnight.

As a result, this is a constant win for us as no areas were affected by power outages.

A case has been opened and handed over to SAPS for further investigation. Atlas Security is proud of the swift response by our officers, which prevented further damage to critical infrastructure.
