Stolen Vehicle Recovered in Summerstrand as Three Suspects Arrested
Crime

Our control room received an alert to be on the lookout for a white vehicle that had been reported stolen. Acting on this intelligence, our armed response teams immediately initiated patrols in the area.
The vehicle was soon located in the parking area of the Summerstrand shopping centre where our Armed Response Officer Bravo 20 made contact with three female suspects found in possession of the stolen vehicle. Given the circumstances, the situation was escalated without delay.
SAPS were contacted immediately, and our armed response officers responded to the scene. Initial engagement with the suspects revealed claims that they worked for the owner of the vehicle and that a dispute had taken place. However, the suspects were unable to confirm when or how they had obtained the vehicle.
SAPS members arrived on site and following further investigation, all three suspects were placed under arrest.
It was further noted that the suspects were travelling with two dogs, which were safely handed over at the police station to the SPCA, ensuring the animals welfare while the criminal process continued.
This incident highlights the critical role of real-time intelligence, rapid reaction and strong coordination between private security and SAPS.
Through swift action and effective communication, Atlas Security ensured a stolen vehicle was removed from circulation, suspects were apprehended and the case was formally placed before law enforcement reinforcing Atlas Security’s commitment to identifying, intercepting and stopping criminal activity.
