On the evening of 07 April 2026, a stolen vehicle was identified, initiating a coordinated response that led to a successful recovery and arrest.
A white vehicle was reported stolen in the Parsons Hill area, along with household items.
The vehicle remained actively sought following circulation across operational channels and a community alert.
At approximately 23:57, Armed Response Officer Bravo20 identified the vehicle travelling along Buffelsfontein Road. Recognising it from prior search efforts conducted alongside the SAPS Dog Unit, Armed Response Officer Bravo 20 immediately initiated a follow.
With continuous updates and live location sharing, additional units were brought into the response, including Armed Response Officers Bravo 81 and Bravo 105, along with the SAPS Dog Unit, who mobilised from a service station in the Circular Drive area to assist.
The vehicle was tracked in the Overbaakens area, where the suspect attempted to evade arrest. Our Rapid Intervention Units Bravo20, Bravo 81 and Bravo 105 moved in and successfully located and detained the individual on scene.
The suspect was held until the arrival of SAPS members, who received authorisation to proceed with a formal arrest for theft-related offences.
In the early hours of 08 April 2026, the suspect was transported to SAPS. The recovered vehicle was escorted to the police station and will be returned to the owner.
This successful recovery and arrest is the result of the awareness and persistence of Armed Response Officer Bravo 20, supported by Bravo 81 and Bravo 105, together with coordinated efforts alongside SAPS.
Across Nelson Mandela Bay, Atlas Security’s visibility and coordinated response continue to make the difference because when something is taken, every second matters.
